Furthermore, a solid tire has smaller static stiffness than a pneumatic tire and its deformation is larger when rolling, so the rolling resistance is larger. Since solid tires have greater mass than pneumatic tires of the same size, their acceleration resistance and slope resistance are also greater.

The braking force of a forklift mainly depends on the braking torque provided by the brakes and the adhesion of the road surface. Sufficient braking force can only be obtained when the forklift has sufficient braking torque and the ground can provide sufficient adhesion. Solid tires have poorer adhesion than pneumatic tires of the same specifications. Therefore, solid tires have less braking force than pneumatic tire forks of the same specification. At the same time, polyurethane forklift solid tires have a larger mass than pneumatic tires of the same specification. Therefore, under the same initial braking speed, the tire forklift braking deceleration is smaller and the braking distance is larger. Therefore, under the same specifications, the braking system of solid tire forklifts is poor.
