Working Principle and Application

 

1. Working principle: The circular belt transmission is a friction belt transmission. The transmission belt is tightly sleeved on the two pulleys, so that pressure is generated between the contact surface of the belt and the pulley. When the driving wheel rotates, the contact surface between the belt and the driving wheel is generated. The friction force makes the belt move, and at the same time, the belt drives the driven wheel to rotate by the friction force between the contact surface with the driven wheel, thereby transmitting motion and power.

 

2. Round belt application: the round belt is used in the round belt transmission, the round belt transmission relies on the pressure of the belt and the wheel groove to generate friction, has good elasticity, relieves the impact vibration during operation, the movement is stable, the noise is low, and the load is too high. When the belt is large, it will slip and play a role in protecting the machine. Circular belt drive is used in low-speed and low-power transmission, such as sewing machines, tape reels, and other small power or manual machinery as a transmission.

 

2. Working characteristics

 

Advantages:


1. Because the round belt is an elastic body, it can ease the load impact, and the movement is smooth and noiseless.

 

2. Overload will cause the belt to slip on the pulley, thus preventing other parts from being damaged.

 

3. The manufacturing and installation precision is not as strict as the meshing transmission.

 

4. The length of the belt can be increased to adapt to the working conditions with a large center distance.

 

Disadvantages:

 

1. The elastic sliding of the belt and the pulley makes the transmission ratio inaccurate, the efficiency is low, and the service life is short.

 

2. When the same large circular force is transmitted, the outer dimension and the pressure on the shaft are larger than that of the meshing transmission.

 

3. Not suitable for high temperature, flammable and other occasions.
