Good elasticity and a wide range of elastic modulus. The modulus of elasticity of polyurethane elastomers can be as low as comparable to ordinary rubber and as high as comparable to engineering plastics. Polyurethane elastomers are far superior to other rubber-plastic engineering materials in maintaining elasticity when used in the temperature range of 0 to 150°C.

 

Excellent abrasion resistance. Abrasion resistance is the most outstanding advantage of polyurethane elastomers, with a few tenths or hundreds of percent less abrasion than other materials under the same conditions.

 

Good resistance to corrosion and organic solvents. Polyurethane elastomer's resistance to acid, alkali and oil are better than ordinary rubber.

 

Strong metal bonding, etc., firm and stable when wrapping metal core.

 

Due to the many advantages of polyurethane elastomer, it is very suitable for the preparation of rubber wheels. Under dynamic conditions, due to the large intermolecular force of polyurethane, the strain "hysteresis" is relatively large under the action of dynamic stress, and the energy it absorbs is converted into endogenous heat, which is not easily dissipated, leading to a sharp rise in the temperature of polyurethane elastomer itself. If its own temperature can be controlled below 50~60, the mechanical strength and wear resistance of the elastomer will not drop drastically, and at the same time, due to the increase of temperature, the elasticity will increase, the "hysteresis" will be reduced, and the endogenous heat will be controlled, so that many properties of the polyurethane rubber wheel will be in the best balance.

 

In general, the ordinary rubber hardness is low, strength is not high, wear resistance is relatively poor, difficult to use in heavy-duty vehicles. Nylon wheel, high hardness and strength, but no rubber elasticity, running vibration, friction, easy to skid.

 

Polyurethane elastomer rubber wheels are widely used in solid wheels, rope-holding wheels, rope-pressing wheels, pulleys, friction wheels, monorail carriers, toothed rail cars, heavy-duty logistics handling vehicles, high-speed glide cars in amusement parks, roller coasters, cable cars, elevator wheels, etc. For the rubber pulley used under heavy load, slope, strong impact and other harsh conditions, the use of polyurethane elastomer is particularly suitable.
